How to Divorce During the War is coming to LBFF!

We’re excited to announce How to Divorce During the War (Skyrybos karo metu), as the first film from Lithuania confirmed for this year’s LBFF.

Marija and Vytas are already coming apart when the news breaks: war has reached Ukraine. As the world outside fractures, so does the fragile truce the couple had been keeping at home — a quietly devastating study of a relationship ending in real time, set in Vilnius on the eve of Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

The film won the Directing Award, World Cinema Dramatic, at the Sundance Film Festival 2026, and is Lithuania’s official submission for the 99th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category.
