Hunger Strike Breakfast is coming to LBFF!

We’re excited to announce Hunger Strike Breakfast (Badautojų namelis), as the latest addition to this year’s programme.

Having lost their jobs when Soviet forces seize Lithuanian Television in January 1991, a small group of employees — among them a former TV director, an announcer and a young actor — declare a hunger strike in protest. Initial defiance slowly gives way to frustration, hunger and doubt, as they’re left to face a single, unanswerable question: how long can they hold out, physically and emotionally, for a cause that may already be lost?

Hunger Strike Breakfast is an absurd drama written and directed by Karolis Kaupinis. It had its Official Selection premiere at the Warsaw Film Festival 2025, and screened in the Baltic Competition at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2025.
