Morten is coming to LBFF!

We’re excited to announce Morten, a magical-realist coming-of-age story, as the first film from Estonia confirmed for this year’s LBFF.
Morten feels out of place among his wealthier classmates, finding refuge behind a camera on his family’s rural farm. Then two girls arrive: Miia, a street artist, and Emilie, who seems to belong to the bog itself — and Morten finds himself caught between two worlds: the everyday and the mystical, the city and the marsh, first love and difficult choices.
Based on Reeli Reinaus’ novel Morten, Emilie and the Lost Worlds, the film had its world premiere in the Special Screenings section of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2026, and has since won three awards at Italy’s Giffoni Film Festival.
Stay tuned for more.
